Esta banda estadounidense utiliza el Rock alternativo desde su formación en 1998.

30 Seconds to Mars comenzó siendo solo un dúo entre el actor Jared Leto y su hermano Sharon Leto. con el tiempo se les unió Matt Wachter como bajista y Soron Bixler como guitarrista.

YOUNG GUNS

Young Guns es un grupo procedente de Reino Unido que empezó a tocar y componer en 2003, pero hasta 2008 no quedó fijo la alineación del grupo.
El 22 de junio de 2009 lanzaron su EP: Mirrors, acompañado de su primer disco: All our kings are dead. Este disco salió a la venta en 2010 y consiguió llegar al puesto 43 de los discos mas vendidos en Inglaterra. En poco tiempo llegaron a ser portada de varias revistas tras el éxito de su primer disco y de sus singles.

SYSTEM OF A DOWN

Esta banda Estadounidense utiliza el Metal Alternativo en su música.

 Serj Tankian y Daron Malakian asistian a un mismo colegio. Se conocieron en 1992, cuando compartían el mismo estudio de gravación, y decidieron juntarse y formar un grupo llamado SOIL. Como bajista y manager tenían a Shavo Odadjian, en 1994 se unió como batería Andy Khachaturian, que poco despues abandonó el grupo por una cirujía en su mano.
Al irse Khachaturian, cambiaron el nombre del grupo a Visctims of a down, que mas tarde se cambió a System of a Down porque Odadjian pensó que la alteración atraería a un grupo mas amplia de público.

LED ZEPPELIN

Este grupo británico es considerado de los mejores de la historia por la revista The Rolling Stones.

Led Zeppelin fue formado en 1968 cuando Jimmy Page y Chris Dreja buscaban nuevos musicos para un nuevo proyecto. Su primer candidato para vocalista del grupo fue Terry Reid, quien se nego y recomendo a su amigo Robert Plant. Plant aceptó y se unió al grupo, junto a su amigo John Bonham para la batería. Dreja decide dejar la música y dedicarse a la fotografía, por lo que el resto de integrantes tubieron que buscar a un nuevo bajista. John Paul Jones, al enterarse de la noticia, habló con su buen amigo Page para unirse al grupo, pasó a formar parte de la banda. El primer estilo de música que ensayaron fue Blues normal. En ese instante se vió química entre los 4 integrantes del grupo.
Led Zeppelin tubo que acabar una gira peniente en Escandinavia, la hicieron bajo el nombre de The New Yardbirds con unas canciones que mas tarde pasaron a formar parte de su primer album.

RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS

Esta banda estadounidense utiliza el Funk Rock en su música.

Red Hot Chili Peppers fue formada en 1989 en la preparatoria para Fairfax High School con el nombre de Tony flow and the Miraculously Majestic Masters of Mayhem. El rendimiento de la banda en vivo fue tan bueno que decidieron llamarlos para la semana siguiente. Decidieron cambier el nombre del grupo a Red Hot Chili Peppers, debido a que su anterior nombre era muy incómodo.
6 de las canciones de su primer demo fue grabada cuando empezaron a tocar en clubs desnudos con solo un calcetin cubriendo las pelotas (Sock on cock).

SLIPKNOT

Esta banda estadounidense utiliza el Metal Alternativo en sus canciones.

Slipknot fue formada cuando Shaw Craham (bateria), Anders Colsefini (cantante), Paul Gray (bajista), Donnie Steele  y Quan "Mend" Nong (guitarristas) decidieron juntarse para empezar en el mundo de la música.
En 1995 se creó The Pales One con Craham, Colsefini, Gray y Steele. Joe Jordison se une al grupo poco despues ocupando el puesto de bateria, por lo que Craham empieza a ocuparse de la acústica. Mas tarde contrataron a "Gnar" Brainard, y Colsefini pasa a ser el 2º percusionista pero seguia siendo el cantante.
Su primer concierto, bajo el nombre de Meld, en un club llamado Crowbard. Mas tarde Joe Jordison propuso sustituir el nombre del grupo por Slipknot. 
Con una gran cantidad de material, decidieron empezar a componer en SR Estudio, un estudio local. En 1996 Steele abandono el grupo por sus creencia religiosas, lo sustituyó Craig Jones.

Esta banda estadounidense utiliza el Punk Rock. Han vendido alrededor de 45 millones de copias a lo largo de su historia, 14,5 millones de esas copias fueron en Estados Unidos. Smash fue el album mas vendido del mundo.


Integrantes: actualmente The Offspring esta formado por Dexter Holland, Greg K, Noodles y Pete Parada.

The Offspring empezó cuando Dexter Holland y Greg Kriesel unieron sus carreras a la de Noodles y Ron Welt (bateria). Entonces decidieron crear The Offspring.






En 1989 firmaron con la discográfica Némesis y publicaron su primer album (The Offspring). 
En 1992 editan su segundo disco (Ignition) con Epitaph Records.
En 1994 publican Smash, que consiguió mas de 8 millones de visitas en Estados Unidos.
En 1997 firmaron con Columbia Records, lo que enfurecio a sus fans por venderse a esa dicográfica.

TRAPT

Esta banda californiana es un cuarteto de nu metal o metal aleternativo.

 TRAPT fue formada en 1997 con Chris Brown (cantante), Simon Ormandy (guitarrista), Peter Charel (bajista) y David Stege (bateria). Con el tiempo componieron sus 2 primeros discos (Amalgamation y Glimpse) vendiendolos cuando tocaban en reuniones locales.
Con el tiempo firmaron con la discográfica Warner Bros Records y gravaron su album debut.
David Siege fue remplazado por Robin Díaz, que mas tarde fue remplazado por Aaron Motgomery.
En el 2002 lanzaron su primer disco con la discográfica TRAPT el cual consiguió un Disco de Platino.
